STEM Education and Innovation (STEMEIC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization registered in Virginia that was created in January 2015 by Christina Clark. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing inequalities, and we aim to advance the overall efforts of the after-school sector to resolve inequities.
We nurture a love of learning in all of our students through energetic experiences planned to inspire their natural curiosity. We are committed to providing a variety of learning experiences where students can pursue their interests and reinforce the key life skills required in the 21st century to succeed. These include analytical thinking, problem-solving and rational reasoning, intrapersonal and interpersonal social skills, emotional maturity and leadership, innovative thinking and creativity, physical health and fitness, cultural knowledge, global awareness, and appreciation for humanity.
What is STEM?
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. According to the United States National Research Council and the National Science Foundation, STEM fields are collectively considered core technological underpinnings of an advanced society. The term STEM is increasingly used in the context of a nation’s economic competitiveness. Thus STEM education not only addresses the demand for scientists and engineers, but also is a key component of responsible, global citizenship.
Our Mission
STEM EIC is an enrichment program designed to engage youth in the rigor of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) content by engaging students in hands-on learning activities that will encourage their young minds to investigate different careers and dream beyond their neighborhoods.
STEM EIC is a organization purposed to give back to the community. We are dedicated to youth in bridging gaps, ensuring workplace readiness, strategic career and post high school development and improving the community at large.
